Afghan Circus depicts the life of girls and young women in Afghanistan experienced through the eyes of our 12-year old protagonist Zahra. Taking its outset in an unexpected, colorful and imaginative circus, the film depicts what it is like growing up in a war zone whilst at the same time investigating spaces of play, imagination and quiet resistance.
